I believe art is one of the purest forms of communication. Whenever I create, my thoughts are pulled forth onto the canvas, an unfiltered truth shared with the viewer. Each medium and subject matter is rendered with the influence of my history, a story of my own design.
My influences are as eclectic as my past. I’m inspired by the unflinching portrait and figurative work of Lucian Freud, but also by pop artists such as Roy Lichtenstein. Pop culture definitely has an impact in my own work even when portrayed in old school style.
While I’ve been creating ever since my childhood, for several years my artistic voice had been muted. A recent life changing health situation reawakened my artistic soul and prompted me to find that which I thought lost.
This is my story and I would like to share it with you.
